Troubleshooting Hints - Gauges and Warning Indicators

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check LP Fuse Block fuses by visual inspection.
2. Check Rear Fuse Block I/P 1 Fuse by visual inspection. If I/P 1 Fuse is blown, a battery feed sneak path exists from the HARD/STOP Fuse to the instrument cluster. Therefore, the cluster may not be completely shut down.
3. If more than one indicator or gauge is Out, check common power and ground inputs.
4. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove good in a continuity/voltage check. (Refer to Troubleshooting Procedures.)
5. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may effect the integrity of other systems. (Refer to Troubleshooting Procedures.) Diagnostic Aids
