Oil Pick Up/Strainer: Service and Repair

CAUTION: Remove the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, before the oil pan is removed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil pan is removed first.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the oil level sensor.
2. Remove the oil pan.
3. Remove the oil pump pipe screen bolts.
4. Remove the oil pump screen.
5. Remove the gasket.
6. Use solvent in order to clean the screen and the housing. Blow dry the screen and the housing.
7. Clean the gasket mating surfaces.

CAUTION: Install the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, after the oil pan is installed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil level sensor is installed first.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the oil pump screen gasket.
2. Install the oil pump screen.
3. Install the oil pump screen bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (98 inch lbs.).
4. Install the oil pan.
5. Install the oil level sensor.
