ABS/TCS Problem Troubleshooting

ABS/TCS problems on vehicles with less than 1,000 miles are usually caused by wiring faults. Problems arising from these faults are quickly worsened by normal road vibration and can be intermittent in nature. Examples include:
- Pinched wires.
- Bent, relaxed or pushed out terminals.
- Loose grounds.
- Missed or loose connections.
- Wires that are stretched too tightly between components without sufficient strain relief.

ABS/TCS problems on vehicles with high mileage are usually caused by worn or corroded components and can be intermittent in nature. Examples include:
- Contaminated relays.
- Corroded wheel speed sensor.
- Internal BPMV faults.
- Corroded or high resistance grounds.
- Low voltage battery.
