C1275
Diagnostic Chart:
PCM/EBTCM Schematic:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors various parameters and will not allow Traction Control operation if any parameter falls below a predetermined value.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
A malfunction has been detected by the PCM. The PCM then causes TCS shutdown until the malfunction has been corrected.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
This is a temporary operational malfunction. A malfunction DTC is stored, TCS is disabled and the TRACTION OFF indicator lamp is turned ON. ABS remains functional. If TCS is no longer inhibited the indicator lamp will be turned OFF but the DTC will still be stored.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
Traction control will remain disabled until the Electronic Brake/Traction Control Module (EBCM/EBTCM) receives a "traction allowed" message sent by the PCM. When the EBTCM receives this message, it re-enables TCS and turns OFF the TRACTION OFF indicator.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Check for PCM DTCs. If no PCM DTC is stored, DTC C1275 may have set due to a hot engine or a hot transaxle (both "normal" conditions) and no repairs should be made to the Traction Control System.
It is very important that a thorough inspection of the wiring and connectors be performed. Failure to carefully inspect wiring may result in misdiagnosis, causing part replacement with reappearance of the malfunction.
