Removal Procedure

Notice: Install the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, after the oil pan is installed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil level sensor is installed first.

1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
2 Remove the oil pump pipe and screen attaching bolts.
3. Remove the oil pump pipe and screen.
4. Clean the screen and housing with solvent, and blow dry.
5. Clean the gasket mating surface on the pipe flange and cylinder block.
