DTC IPC U1088 Loss Of SDM Data:

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC:
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) IPC U1088 will set if the ignition is "ON" and the IPC is not able to exchange data with the Air Bag Module (SDM).

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DCT SETS (BY IPC):
The IPC will turn "ON" the SERVICE VEHICLE SOON and the AIR BAG Telltales.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS:
If only DTC IPC U1088 is stored as "History", check ABS power, ground and serial data cavities for intermittent open circuits. If there are multiple commuricati6n DTCs current (i.e. DTC IPC U1016, IPC U1040, IPC U1064 and IPC U1088) perform a Class 2 Data Link Connector system check for open circuits, refer to Data Link Connector. If DTC U1040 and U1088 are set together inconjunction with or without U1255 they may be set falsely. This is due to the Ignition switch being rotated slowly. If no other loss of data codes are set before doing any diagnosis clear codes and see if they return. Information Bus
