Transaxle Side Seals

^ Tools Required:
- J 34115 Axle Seal Installer
- J 37292-B Axle Seal Protector

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
2. Drive axle.
3. Pry out seal with a screwdriver or other suitable tool.
^ Do not damage seal bore.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New seal using J 34115. Lubricate seal lip with a light wipe of transmission fluid.
2. For right side axle seal, J 37292-B. Install in a position so it can be pulled out after drive axle is installed (T-handle between 5 and 7 o'clock positions).

Important: Carefully guide axle shaft past lip seal. Do not allow shaft splines to contact any portion of the seal lip surface, otherwise damage to the seal will occur.

3. Drive Axle.
4. Right side: Remove J 37292-B by pulling in line with handle. Be sure J 37292-B is completely removed and no pieces are left inside transaxle.

Inspect
^ For leaks.
^ Fluid level.

Adjust
^ Fluid level.
