1997 Buick LeSabre VIN 463323 and after
with 3800 Engine (VIN K - RPO L36)
When servicing and diagnosing driveability concerns on 1997 Buick LeSabres, utilize the 1997 H Final Service Manual.
VIN 400044 thru 463322 Buick LeSabres do not have the capability to set Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1336 and therefore do not need the Crankshaft Variation Learn Procedure performed.
VIN 463323 and after Buick LeSabres, however do have the capability to set DTC P1336 and will need the Crankshaft Variation Learn Procedure performed if any of the following conditions are true:
^ DTC P1336 is set.
^ The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has been replaced.
^ The PCM has been reprogrammed.
^ The engine has been replaced.
^ The crankshaft has been replaced.
^ The crankshaft harmonic balancer has been replaced.
^ The crankshaft position sensor has been replaced.
