ABS Light Relay: Description and Operation

The lamp driver module contains electronic components that turn the "ABS" indicator lamp "ON" unless the Electronic Brake/Traction Control Module (EBCM/EBTCM) provides ground to turn the indicator "OFF (Inverter)." If the EBCM/EBTCM loses power or is disconnected, the LDM commands the warning lamp "ON." The Lamp Driver Module (LDM) is located on the RH side, behind the instrument panel compartment. Vehicles that are either equipped with a UB3 IPC and have TCS, have an LDM with dual, independent circuits for the "ABS" and "TRACTION OFF" Indicator lamps. Vehicles that do not have TCS are equipped with a single circuit LDM for the "ABS" indicator lamp.
