DTC C1256xx EBTCM Internal Malfunction:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This DTC identifies a malfunction within the EBCM/EBTCM.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
DTC C1256xx can be set when there is a solenoid short to battery inside the BPMV (If DTC(s) C1261 - C1274 are set along with C1256xx then pursue the solenoid DTC(s) first). DTC C1256xx can be set when there is an internal EBCM/EBTCM malfunction.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
A malfunction DTC is stored, ABS/TCS is not disabled and the "ABS" and "TRACTION OFF" indicator lamps are not turned "ON."
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING DTC
- Condition for DTC is no longer present and scan tool clear DTC function is used.
- 50 ignition cycles have passed with no DTC(s) detected.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
- When DTC C1256 is displayed on the Scan Tool, it will be followed by two more numbers which should be noted along with any other DTCs that may be displayed. The additional two numbers displayed with DTC C1256 are for aiding engineering to determine the cause of the internal malfunction.
- An "intermittent" malfunction is most likely caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a wire that is broken inside the insulation. Make sure the integrity of the connection between the EBCM/EBTCM and the BPMV is secure, tight, and free from corrosion.
