Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Throttle Body:
Throttle Body Removal:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Air inlet duct.
3. Throttle, and cruise control cables.
4. Positive crankcase ventilation ([1][2]PCV) hose.
5. Idle Air Control (IAC) valve, Throttle Position (TP) and Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connectors.
6. Fuel pipe clip at accelerator cable bracket.
7. Nuts holding throttle body to upper intake manifold.
8. Throttle body retaining bolt / stud.
9. Throttle body and flange gasket.
^ Discard gasket.
NOTICE: Use care in cleaning old gasket material from machined aluminum surfaces as sharp tools may damage sealing surfaces.
Clean
Gasket surface on intake manifold.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New flange gasket.
2. Throttle body assembly.
3. Throttle body retaining nuts.
Tighten
Throttle body attaching nuts to 28 Nm (21 lb. ft.).
4. Accelerator cable bracket.
5. Fuel pipe clip at accelerator cable bracket.
6. Throttle and cruise control cables.
Adjust
Throttle and cruise control cables. Refer to Throttle Cable/Linkage / Adjustments. Adjustments
7. [1][2]PCV hose.
8. IAC valve, TP and MAF sensor electrical connectors.
9. Air inlet duct.
10. Negative battery cable.
Inspect
With the engine "OFF," check to see that the accelerator pedal is free:
- Depress pedal to the floor and release.
