Tech 1 Diagnostic Charts

The basic theory behind the Tech 1 diagnostic charts presented in this is very simple. If this theory is understood, the trouble trees can be used simply as a general outline.

The Tech 1 is used to listen on the data link to see if the Radio Control Head is sending the right message on the data link to the Radio Receiver. The trouble tree will refer to Select Component Radio Control Head and monitor E & C Data for the correct messages to expect if the Radio Control Head is functioning correctly. Select Component Radio Control Head

If the Radio Control Head is not sending the right message, the Tech 1 is used to send the message directly from the Tech 1 to the Radio Receiver to verify that the Radio Receiver is OK and can respond to the messages. If the Radio Receiver does respond, the problem is either in the Radio Control Head, or in the wiring. (The diagnostic charts will refer to Select Component Radio Receiver, Control E & C Components for the procedure and correct responses if the radio receiver is OK.)

If the Radio Control Head is sending the right message when the suspected button or feature is pressed, the Tech 1 is used to verify that the Radio Receiver may have failed by sending the message directly from the Tech 1. If the Radio Receiver still does not respond, the Radio Control Head is OK, and the problem is either in the Radio Receiver or in the wiring. (The trouble tree will refer to Select Component Radio Receiver, Control E & C Components for the procedure and correct response if the Radio Receiver is actually OK.) Select Component Radio Receiver
