Powertrain Control Module (PCM):

The presence of this code indicates a memory error. Make sure "PROM" is properly installed and latched into socket, and that there are no bent or broken pins. If OK, replace "PROM", clear the memory and re-check for codes. If Code 51 re-appears, replace Engine Control Module (ECM.)
