Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES:
To clear diagnostic trouble codes, connect one end of a Jumper to pin A of the data link connector DLC. With the opposite end of the Jumper, alternately plug into and remove from pin C. Do this three times. Hold each connection for 1 second, and pause 1 second between connections.

NOTE: Once the data link connector DLC circuit has cleared diagnostic trouble codes, it turns off the fault indicator for 1 second, and then turns on the fault indicator for 2 seconds. If the fault indicator does not go out, then the diagnostic trouble codes have not been cleared successfully. Repeat the clearing sequence.
