Hesitation or Stalls on Acceleration

DEFINITION: Momentary lack of response as the accelerator is pushed down. Can occur at any vehicle speed. Usually most severe when first trying to make the vehicle move, as from a stop. May cause the vehicle to stall if severe enough.

POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

Poor or contaminated fuel ^ Check for excessive alcohol content,
^ Recommend higher grade fuel



Fuel Metering ^ Check air/fuel ratio, (O2 Sensor Voltage)
^ Chart C-2A Fuel Injector Balance Test
^ Check fuel pressure.
^ Perform injector service (cleaning). Refer to SERVICE AND REPAIR.
