Test E: Fuel Gage Accuracy Test

Disconnect connector C305 and connect the two red clip leads of tester J 33431-B to terminals E (BLK/WHT) and B (PPL) of the harness side. With the Ignition in RUN, set the resistance dial on the tester to 0 ohm (empty), 90 ohms (full).

Allow approximately 1 minute for the Fuel Gage to respond.

^ If the Gage responds correctly, check the Fuel Level Sender ground. If ground checks OK, check for mechanical clearance between the float and tank interior. If the connections are loose or corroded, or wires shorted, repair as required. If OK, replace the Fuel Level Sender.

^ If the Gage does not respond correctly, check PPL (30), BLK (151) and BLK/WHT (353) wires for high resistance. If all checks are OK, service the Instrument Cluster.
