No Engine Braking In Manual 3RD/3RD Gear

1. Check for improperly adjusted manual linkage.

2. Inspect control valve assembly and spacer plate for the following:

a. Valve body gaskets leaking, damaged or improperly installed.

b. Plugged D-3 orifice in spacer plate.

c. PT/D-3 check ball No. 3 improperly positioned or missing.

3. Inspect turbine shaft and overrun clutch for the following:

a. D-3 oil passage in turbine shaft plugged or not drilled through.

b. D-3 oil passage not drilled through in overrun clutch hub.

c. Missing or damaged oil seals in the overrun clutch piston.

d. Burned overrun clutches.

e. Overrun clutch backing plate snap ring out of groove.
