Compressor Clutch Relay: Description and Operation

Dash Harness (Engine Compartment):

The Electronic Control Module (ECM) can override all other compressor controls and cause the compressor clutch to be disengaged. If the ECM determines less load on the engine is needed, it removes the ground from the relay coil, de-energizing the relay, and removing the source voltage from the compressor clutch coil.
