CHART B-7 - BLANK CRT AND NO COMMUNICATION TO IPC
Circuit Description:
Because the CRT cannot display Radio function page and the IPC cannot communicate with the BCM, as the speedometer is blank, the whole system has lost ground or the CRTC has lost ground, which prevents CRT operation and stops all communication. The system must have power, as the "Service Engine Soon" light worked.
Test Description:
1. If the IPC's "Electrical Problem" telltale is on, the CRTC must have lost ground and stopped communication. If the whole system lost ground, the IPC would not be able to light the "Electrical Problem" telltale.
2. Verifying the integrity of the two ground circuits at the CRTC will determine if the circuits are open, or if the problem is a faulty CRTC connector or CRTC.
3. Verifying the integrity of the two ground circuits at the CPS will determine if the circuits are open or if the problem is a faulty CPS connector or CPS.
