CHART B-10 - LOSS OF 7 VOLT LOGIC
Test Description:
1. Since we have established that the CPS is not providing 7 volts out and that the BCM has 12 volts, jumpering 12 volts to the wakeup (turn on) circuit at the CPS will verify integrity of the wake-up circuit that is normally provided by the BCM.
2. If 7 volts still does not leave the CPS when the wake-up circuit is jumped to 12 volts, sequentially checking resistance to ground on each of the CPS's 7 volt circuits will verify the integrity of each branch of the circuit and its components. If circuits check OK, the CPS is faulty. This check also includes a short to ground on the 12 volt wake-up signal to the CPS from the BCM. When a 7 volt line shorts to ground, there is no fuse to blow as the CPS will internally sense the short and automatically cut power out.
