Wiring Diagram for Code C339 - Loss Of Radio Data:

CODE C339 - LOSS OF RADIO DATA

Circuit Description:

Since the data circuit between the radio and CRTC is a different circuit than the data circuit that connects the BCM to the CRTC, the only common point is the CRTC and its power and ground circuits. Since the CRTC is working, as it must be in order to see this code, the only circuit problems that can cause this code to set are open or shorted radio data circuits, loss of power or ground to radio or internal problem in the radio or CRTC.

Test Description:

1. Checks for intermittent condition.

2. Checks to see if fault is due to the data circuit (including the radio's capability to generate data), or the CRTC.

3. Checks to see if fault is due to an open, or shorted data circuit, or the radio is not generating data.

4. Measuring voltage, at various points, will determine if the reason the radio is not generating data is due to power, or ground circuits, or the radio itself.

Note On Intermittents:

The following conditions will result in intermittent Code C339 only:

^ Momentary short or open in radio data circuit.
^ Momentary loss of battery (CKT 812R) or Accy (CKT 43) to the radio.
^ Momentary loss of ground (CKT 804) to the radio.
