SUBJECT: Spark Plug Usage Change - 1983 1.8L OHC Engines (VIN Code 0)
In January, 1983, a production running change was made on the 1.8L OHC (VIN Code 0) engine. This change replaces the early spark plug R42XLS6 and .060" gap, with spark plug R44XLS and .035" gap.

When spark plug replacement is necessary, the R44XLS plug and .035" gap should be used regardless of original plug type.
