SUJECT: Wide Open Throttle Surge
MODELS AFFECTED: 1982 Regals Equipped With Turbo Charged Engines (LC8)
Some 1982 Regals equipped with turbocharged engines may have a surge condition when under heavy acceleration at speeds above 45 mph. This may occur when the transmission converter clutch is engaged during wide open throttle. To correct this condition, new ECM PROM's are now being used in production vehicles.
If any owner should comment on subject condition, the applicable ECM Service PROM should be obtained from WDD GM and installed in ECM following instructions in this bulletin and Service Package.
ECM Service PROM for Federal Vehicle # 1225906.
ECM Service PROM for California Vehicle # 1225907.
ECM PROM INSTALLATION
