SUBJECT
MY '05 E65, E66 - 750i Vehicle Losses Power While Driving

MODEL
E65 and E66 (7 Series) with N62TU engine from 03/05 production.

SITUATION
The customer complains that the vehicle intermittently loses power while driving. The vehicle does not exhibit any other malfunctions and no warning indicators are displayed.

One or more of the following fault codes may be stored:

Car Access System (CAS):

FC A0B5 - "Line DFA to CAS, cable break"

Can/Byteflight virtual module:

FC A3B2 - "Message terminal status of CAS missing"

Instrument Cluster (KOM):

FC A3B2 KOM: - "Terminal status (R/15/30), communication fault"

Power Module (PM):

FC A163 - "No bus reset, disconnection at Terminal 30U and/or 30G"

Safety Gateway Module (SGM):

FC 93FC - "Under-voltage Term 30"

[NEW] CAUSE

Under investigation. Possible failure of Car Access Module (CAS) or the Satellite Right B-Pillar Module (SBSR).

PROCEDURE

1. Do not replace any parts

2. Submit a PuMA Case to the Drivetrain Group indicating "Loss of Power" in the subject field.

3.Please ensure the vehicle is connected to a FASTA transmitting device before submitting all PuMA cases.
