Removing and Installing/ Replacing Alternator (Air Cooled Version)

12 31 020 Removing and Installing/ Replacing Alternator (Air Cooled Version)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative lead. Disconnecting and Connecting Battery Negative Lead
- Remove suction filter housing. Service and Repair
- Remove electric fan with cowl. Service and Repair
- Remove alternator drive belt. Replacing Alternator Drive Belt




Disconnect plug (3) from alternator.

Unscrew nut (1).

Lay B+ line (2) to one side.





Release screws (1)

Remove alternator (2).

Installation:
Modify guide pulley (3) to new alternator (replace if necessary).





Check DME (alternator) for correct operation.
