SITUATION

^ Vehicle hesitates during acceleration

^ Vehicle hesitates during constant driving

^ Vehicle acceleration limited afier a stop No faults are stored in the DME

CAUSE
With the launch of the E65, a new feature was implemented in the DME software to avoid unintentional acceleration during a panic stop due to misapplication of the accelerator pedal.

The DMB will limit the acceleration demand signal, as soon as it detects a simultaneous brake and accelerator pedal input at a road speed greater than 20 km/h (approx. 12 mph).

The customer can unintentionally activate this feature by resting his left foot on the brake pedal during acceleration.

PROCEDURE
Please explain this important safety feature to the customer.
