E65/E66 Conversion Procedure - CD NAV (NAVI01) to DVD NAV (NAVI02)

SITUATION
Since February 2004, supplies of the CD Navigation control unit (NAVI01) have no longer been available. DVD Navigation control unit (NAVI02) is supplied as a replacement part.

When installing a NAVI02 to replace a NAVI01 control unit, the VO (Vehicle Order) must be updated by following the procedure below.

[NEW] PROCEDURE

When installing the DVD NAV unit NAVI02 (replacement part), the following conversion must be performed in ISTA/P.

^ Conversion, navigation system DVD

Note:
This conversion option is only available in ISTA/P prior to the first DVD NAV system installation in the affected vehicle.

After performing the conversion, install the most current navigation system software. For installation instructions, refer to SI B65 21 02.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
