SUBJECT
Exterior Trunk Button mop After Unlocking Vehicle With Remote

MODEL
E65, E66 (7 Series)

SITUATION
The exterior trunk release button does not open the trunk after the complete vehicle is unlocked using the Remote. The trunk however will unlock via the Remote button or inside trunk release button.

CAUSE
The unlock button was pressed a third time when unlocking the vehicle. This happens when "Selective Unlocking" is "Active" in Vehicle/Key Memory.

INFORMATION
In case of a customer complaint, do not replace any parts. Demonstrate the operation of the vehicle to the customer as follows:

1. Lock the vehicle using the Remote.

2. Press the unlock button on the Remote once and the driver's door will unlock.

3. Press the unlock button on the Remote a second time and the remaining doors and trunk will unlock.

4. Press the unlock button a third time and the trunk will lock.

5. Press the unlock button a fourth time and the trunk will unlock.

Currently all vehicles will operate this way with "Selective Unlocking" "Active" in Vehicle/Key Memory.

Explain to the customer that this is normal operation of the Remote unlock button.
