SITUATION

The soft plastic rear window in the Z8 soft top is made from a different material than other BMW convertible rear windows. The material used is designed to be more scratch resistant than that used in previous soft windows.

However, the window can have a somewhat cloudy or milky appearance which cannot be eliminated by cleaning. This is considered normal for this type of plastic.

CORRECTION

In case of a customer complaint, explain that the material is somewhat cloudier than the material used on other BMW soft windows, and that this is normal. Replacement of the rear window will not substantially change the situation, and therefore the window should not be replaced for this condition.
