Mark II Navigation Screen "Locks Up": E38/E39 produce 10/98

MODEL:
E38, E39

Situation:
The Board Monitor screen "locks up" when using the navigation system.

Cause:
Navigation computer hardware fault.

Vehicles Affected:
E38, E39 with Mark II Navigation produced between 10/1/98 - 10/13/98.

Correction:
On a customer complaint basis, replace the navigation computer.

Information:
A hardware fault in the navigation computer causes the board monitor screen to "lock up" while using the navigation system. The following navigation computer are affected (refer to the white label on the navigation computer):

WA02 XXXXX 9840

WA02 XXXXX 9841

Before replacing the computer, verify the information printed on the labels with the numbers listed above.
