63 12 450 Removing and Installing Left or Right Concealed Headlight Complete With Console

63 12 450 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT CONCEALED HEADLIGHT COMPLETE WITH CONSOLE






Disconnect plugs.
Installation:
Read fault memory; eliminate and cancel faults If applicable.






Uncllp holder.
Take off holder.






Unscrew mounting nut.






Pull out lockpin.
Remove cap.

Important! Check for correct Installed position!

Slide cover forward and remove.
Installation:
Check for correct seating of cover!






Unscrew nuts with Special Tool 63 0 110.

Note: Always counterhold to avoid changing the vertical adjustment of headlights.

Remove headlight from above.






Installing:
Adjust adjusting screws (1 and 2) to assembled distance = 9.5 mm (0.374") with Special Tool 63 0 110.






Adjust adjusting screw to assembled distance = 5.0 mm (0.197") with Special Tool 63 0 110.

Insert headlight with wires.

Important! Check for correct routing of wires.






Tighten nuts only finger tight.

Note: It must stili be possible to move the headlight laterally.

Check function of concealed headlights.

Important! Only perform test If both headlights are connected, as otherwise a fault would be stored In the fault memory.






Mount Special Tool 63 0 000.
Shut engine hood carefully.

Important! Don't damage paint finish of engine hood on the spacers.






Correct the vertical adjustment with adjusting screws (1 ... 3).
Use Special Tool 63 0 110.

Note: Concealed headlight was removed in picture for better illustration.






Remove the front light assembly (see 63 11 100) for vertical adjustment of the bracket. 63 11 100 Removing and Installing Left or Right Front Light Assembly

Adjusting screw for vertical adjustment (front light assembly removed).
Make vertical adjustment with Special Tool 63 0 110.






Installation:
Check Installed position of the adjusting screw if the vertical adjustment cannot be corrected sufficiently.
Check for correct position of adjusting screw.

Note: Bracket was removed in picture for better illustration.






Tighten mounting nuts.
Take off special tool and mount cap.
Installation:
Check for correct seating of cap.

Shut engine hood.
Check spacing between engine hood and front side panels as well as concealed headlights and engine hood, repeating the adjusting procedures if necessary.
