Anti-Theft (DWA) System Malfunctions - False Acoustic and Visual Arming Confirmation

MODELS:
7 Series (E38) - vehicles produced prior to 5/95

Situation:

Sporadically, DWA chirps once and flashes the parking lights, with no fault being stored in the fault memory.

Cause:

Defective voltage regulator in General Module (corrected on all General Modules as of week 24 1995).

Correction:

In case of a customer complaint only, call up the Identification Page for the General Module with the DIS Tester and verify the Hardware Number. Replace the General Module if the Hardware Number is 05 or lower.
