IHKA E31 TEMPERATURE REGULATION







Temperature regulation on E31 vehicles is accomplished in exactly the same way as on E32 vehicles: solenoid actuated water valves, normally held open by spring pressure, are pulsed closed by the IHKA E31 control module to regulate the flow of hot coolant through the heater cores (and, thereby, the core temperatures).

Like the E32 system, E31 vehicles have an electrically powered auxiliary coolant pump to ensure that an adequate supply of hot water is always available to the heater cores.
