Rear Window Defroster

IHKA E31 REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER







The E31 rear window defroster switch is mounted on the instrument panel, not on the IHKA control panel.

When activated, the E31 rear window defroster operates at full power for 10 minutes, then at 40 seconds on/80 seconds off (pulsed operation) for 20 minutes, and then the defroster shuts off automatically.

During pulsed operation, the control module monitors KI.15 voltage. If voltage drops below 11.7 volts, the control module shuts off the defroster. If voltage then rises to about 12.7 volts, the control module automatically resumes defroster operation.
