Compared to IHKA E32

IHKA E31 COMPARED TO IHKA E32

IHKA E31 is, in general, very similar in design and function to IHKA E32. Introduced for the 1991 model year, IHKA E31 included the design features and improvements made to IHKA E32 up to that point, including software revisions and the microfilter.

The most obvious difference between the E32 and E31 IHKA systems is the styling of the control panel and the air distribution outlets. Mother difference is that E31 vehicles do not have rear seat area footwell outlets or an air outlet at the rear of the console (or the stepper motor and flap for that outlet).

E31 vehicles have washer spray jet heaters but, like early E32 vehicles, the heaters are not controlled by the IHKA control module. E31 vehicles do not have windshield base heaters.
