Fuel Pump Relay: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The fuel pump relays supply battery power to the fuel pumps.

OPERATION
The relays are energized only during engine cranking or while the engine is running (>150 RPM) by the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control modules. If the engine stops with the ignition switch "ON", the DME control modules will interrupt the ground circuit for the fuel pump relay, shutting down the fuel pumps.
