SUBJECT:
SRS Control Unit

Complaint:
You may receive the following customer complaint: A beeping noise is heard while listening to certain AM band radio stations.

Situation:
Interference from the SRS Control Unit is being picked up by the radio and is heard as a beeping noise.

Correction:
Replace the SRS Control Unit (manufactured by CIPRO) with a new control unit P/N 65 77 1 377 458 (manufactured by SIEMENS).

Note:
If the SRS light flashes after installation of the Siemens control unit, the fault memory must be cancelled using the BMW Service Tester (as outlined in S.I. 72 06 88 (1747).

Warranty Status:
Covered under the terms of the BMW New Car Limited Warranty of 3 Years/36,000 Miles.
