SUBJECT: Dash Lighting

MODEL: E32 (8/87 through 1/88 production)

Situation: When switching from headlights to parking lights the dashboard lighting may intermittently go out.

These lights, however, will come back on if the headlight switch is first turned OFF and then turned ON.

Cause: Incompatibility between the LKM ([1][2]Lamp Control Module) and the dashboard lighting dimmer switch.

Correction: Replace dimmer switch with P/N 61 31 1 374 039.
