Final Reassembly

^ Install thermostat housing cover and thermostat with vent hole at top.

^ Reinstall cylinder head covers.

Reinstall intake manifolds.


Reinstall ignition distributor housings and caps.

NOTE Always replace the 6 sealing rings (P/N 07 11 9 963 044) used in conjuction with the distributor housing attaching bolts (see exploded view page 2, item # 16). Should the sealing ring be unavailable, coat bolt threads with blue Loctite(R)

^ Reinstall cooling fan and shroud.

^ Clean and inspect engine to verify that all engine areas are free of oil and repair residue. (High pressure steam cleaning is not recommended).


^ Operate engine to operating temperature, bleed cooling system and check carefully for coolant or oil leaks. This important final inspection should be viewed from above and below engine.

^ Clean and install underside protective cover.
