Injection Nozzle Pressure

Refer to Diesel Engine Performance Specifications for specified injection nozzle opening pressures. Remove injectors, mount in suitable test stand and pressurize injectors according to tester manufacturer's instructions. Maximum allowable difference between injector opening rates is 213 psi, and fuel should spray from injectors in a tight, tapered pattern. A properly operating injector, cycled 1-2 times per second should, hum (vibrate) while ejecting fuel. No fuel should drip from injectors in 10 seconds with pressure maintained 284 psi below observed opening pressure.
