Valve Clearance: Adjustments

Fig. 4 Loosening adjustment eccentric:

1. Remove valve cover.
2. Rotate engine until camshaft lobe of valve being adjusted faces upward.
3. Using suitable valve clearance adjusting tool and a 12 mm open end wrench, loosen adjusting eccentric locknut, Fig. 4.
4. Position feeler gauge, then rotate eccentric with a suitable punch until clearance is within specifications.
5. Tighten adjusting eccentric locknut.
