No Start Testing

No Start:
Follow the steps outlined in "Checking the Basics".

If the vehicle still does not start, follow the steps below:
- Check the Main relay. Testing and Inspection
The Main relay powers the Motronic control unit, the fuel pumps and the fuel injectors. The Main relay should click on when the ignition key is turned on.

If the Main relay is not faulty:
- Check the Reference Sensor. Testing and Inspection
The Reference Sensor gives the Motronic control unit its baseline timing mark for starting.

If there are no faults up to this point:
- Check to make sure the ignition system is producing a spark. Testing and Inspection

If the ignition system is producing a spark:
- Check the fuel pump for proper operation. Testing and Inspection
