Entry Assistance Control Cable and Housing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pop rivet pliers

Removing

- Remove seat or seat bench.

Individual seat: => [ 2nd Row, 2-Seater Assembly Overview ] 2nd Row, 2-Seater Assembly Overview

Two-thirds bench seat: => [ 2nd Row, 3-Seater Assembly Overview ] 2nd Row, 3-Seater Assembly Overview

- Remove cover and padding from backrest.

Individual seat: => [ Backrest Cover and Padding ] Backrest Cover and Padding

Two-thirds bench seat: => [ Backrest Cover and Padding ] Backrest Cover and Padding

Make sure the backrest is locked (zero position) or it could tip forward accidentally.

- Drill out pop rivet - 4 -.






- Disengage spring - 5 - on cable - 2 -.

- Disengage cable - 1 - at anchor on backrest - arrow -.

Cables - 1 - and - 2 - are welded securely to plastic bracket - 3 -.

- Remove the bolt - 6 -.






- Disengage cover - 5 - at housing and remove it.

- Pry control cable - 8 - out of the control cable bracket - arrow A -.

- Pry control cable - 7 - out of the control cable bracket - arrow B -.

- Disengage cable - 7 - on control disc - 3 -.

- Disengage cable - 8 - on anchor disc - 4 -.

- Remove control disc - 3 - and anchor disc - 4 -.

- Remove screws - 1 - and - 9 -.

- Disengage housing - 2 - on backrest frame - arrow C -.

- Remove housing - 2 -.

Installation






Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Pop rivet - 4 - on plastic parts - 3 - must be secured from inside to outside.

Ensure cable - 1 - engages audibly in backrest frame - arrow -.

- Adjust cable. Refer to => [ Entry Assistance Control Cables, Adjusting ] Entry Assistance Control Cables, Adjusting.
