Rear Bonded Rubber Bushing for Rear Final Drive
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Subframe support assembling device (3301)
• Subframe support assembling device (3346)
• Subframe support assembling device (T40185)
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)
• Engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A) with Universal Transmission Support (V.A.G 1359/2)
Removing
- Remove rear final drive.
- Loosen the nuts on both rear muffler brackets but only as far as to where the thread begins.
- Place (V.A.G 1383 A) with (V.A.G 1359/2) under the subframe.
- Place a suitable squared-off piece of lumber under the subframe.
- Remove the rear subframe bolts.
- Install the spindle (3346/2) , the assembly tool (3301) and the nut (3346/3) approximately 1.5 cm as illustrated.

• Turn (3346/3) on the (3346/2) until dimension - a - 4 cm is reached.
- Lower the subframe only 4 cm.
- Attach the tools to the sub frame as illustrated.

6. Bonded rubber mount
7. Tube (T40185/7). The "open" side faces up.
- Turn the (3346/3) and counterhold the (T40185/9) and removed the bearing from the subframe.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
- Note the installation position for the rubber bonded bushing.
- The arrows on the back of the rubber bonded bushing must point up or down.
- Attach the tools and the bonded rubber bushing to the subframe as illustrated.

7. Thrust pad (T40185/8)
- Turn the (3346/3) and counterhold the (T40185/9) and install the bearing all the way into the subframe.
• If paint damage has occurred during bearing replacement, repair using corrosion protection, primer and black top coat.
