Risk of destroying if the running direction of a used ribbed belt is reversed.
• Before removing ribbed belt, marking running direction with chalk or a felt-tip pen for reinstallation.
- Turn the tensioning element clockwise - arrow - to release the tension on the ribbed belt and lock it with the (T10060 A).
- Remove the ribbed belt from the generator.
- Clamp off the coolant hoses using the clamps (3094).
- Place the (VAS 6208) under the engine.
- Loosen the clamps and remove the coolant hose - 3 - from the generator.

Installing
• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Generator with Bushings Overview ] Generator with Bushings Overview.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Replace O-ring
• Secure all hose connections using standard hose clamps. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• Because the clamping force of a tight bushing is too low despite correct torque, bushings must be loosened.
- Move the bushings for the bolts slightly toward the back to make is easier to install the generator.
- Install the ribbed belt.
- Make sure the ribbed belt is on securely and is routed correctly.
- Install the front coolant pipes.
- Connect the battery. Required actions, refer to => [ Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
- Check the coolant level.
- Start the engine and make sure the belt it running correctly.
