Multimedia System Control Head (E380)

The multimedia system control head is located in the center console at the front.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

Removing

The multimedia system control head - 2 - is attached to the center console - 1 - by four spring tabs - 3 -.






A moveable "fork retainer" - 4 - is attached in the center console - 1 - and is used to release the control head. The "fork retainer" is accessible from the cupholder. Use the "fork retainer" to remove the multimedia system control head - 2 - from the center console.

The surfaces can get scratched very easily. Tape off all surfaces and components!

- Open the cupholder and position a narrow screwdriver - arrow - on the "fork retainer" - 2 -.






- Hit the handle of the screwdriver with your hand forcefully. This will push the "fork retainer" - 2 - against the multimedia system control - 1 - and force it upward and out of the center console.

- Unlock and disconnect the connectors from the back of the multimedia system control head - 1 -.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
