94 11 53

2026873/1

October 11, 2011.

Affected Vehicles

Condition
Headlight lens steamed up.

The moisture disappears after a drive, over 10 minutes.

The headlights do not clear completely after a short drive, less than 10 minutes.

Technical Background

Humid air can enter through the ventilation hose that is located behind the wheel arch liner, causing moisture to develop on the headlight lens.

Production Solution

A check valve is integrated in the ventilation hose to reduce the intake of humid air.

Service

Tip: Replace the ventilation hose between headlamps and wheel arch liner with the new modified hose.

1. Use compressed air (less than 30 PSI) to clear the moisture.
