Right Coolant Pipe on Transmission
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)
• Drip Tray (VAS 6208)
• Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)
Removing
- Free up the fuel hose - 1 - and the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister hose - 2 - on the air duct pipe.
- Remove the vacuum hose - 3 - from the air guide pipe connection.
- Remove the air guide pipe; to do this, loosen the hose clamps - arrows -.
- Remove the right bolts - arrows - and the heat shield - 1 -.
Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.
• The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.
• Cover the coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and then open it slowly to release the pressure in the system.
- Remove the cap - arrow - from the coolant reservoir.
- Remove the rear noise insulation - 2 -.
- Place the (VAS 6208) under the separating point.
Vehicles with S-Tronic Transmission
- Disconnect the coolant hose - 1 - together with the (3094).
- Remove the bolts - arrows -.
- Remove the coolant hose - 3 - and the (3094) from the right coolant pipe on the transmission.
- Loosen the clamp - 2 - and remove the coolant pipe on the right wheel housing.
Vehicles with Automatic Transmission
- Disconnect the coolant hose - 1 - together with the (3094).
- Remove the bolts - arrows -.
- Remove the coolant hose - 3 - and the (3094) from the right coolant pipe on the transmission.
- Loosen the clamp - 2 - and remove the coolant pipe on the right wheel housing.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pipes Overview ] Coolant Pipes Overview.
• Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model, refer to the Parts Catalog.
- Install the air guide pipe.
- Install the subframe heat shield.
- Check the coolant level => [ Filling ] Service and Repair.
- Install the rear noise insulation.
