Condition
The customer may report rattle noises from the instrument cluster area.
Technical Background
The multiple-piece design of the cluster frame allows the pieces to rattle against each other when driving on rough roads.
Production Solution
Textile adhesive tape has been added in the journal between the two pieces of the cluster frame.
Service
1. Remove the instrument cluster and necessary parts according to ElsaWeb.
2. Cut the textile adhesive tape to the proper size and bond it to the inner component of the cluster frame at the upper-center portion of back side (Figure 1).
Tip: Very carefully use two plastic wedge tools to temporarily open the space between the parts to allow space to apply the textile adhesive tape. (Figure 2, red arrow).
