Camera Control Module and Lens Trim Assembly Overview






1 Retaining Plate

With windshield heating for the camera control module.

Cannot be separated from the windshield.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Special Hook (3370)

Removing

If the camera control module is replaced, then the program must be started on the vehicle diagnostic tester in Guided Functions.

- Release the - 1 - camera control module trim piece for the retaining plate in direction of - arrow A - using (3370) - 2 - alternating from right to left and then remove it downward in direction of - arrow B -.






- Free up the electrical wires if necessary.

- Push the locking tabs - 2 and 4 - upward.






Carefully press the locking tabs upward just enough until it is possible to guide the camera control module past.

- Remove the camera control module - 1 - to the rear, parallel to the retaining plate - 5 -, in direction of - arrow 3 - and out of the retainers - arrows - on the retaining plate - 5 -.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 and 3 - and remove the camera control module - 1 -.






Removing the Lens Trim






- Squeeze the clips - arrows - and remove the lens trim from the bracket.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

The camera visual area on the inside of the window must not be covered with condensation or dirty. If it is, clean the visual window by hand using a cleaning solution.

If the camera control module was remove and installed or replaced, then the camera and the camera control module must be calibrated. Refer to => [ Camera Control Module (J852), Lane Assist, Calibrating ] Testing and Inspection.
